Oh dear God I am closer to 40 than I am to 30.

Well hello there, deep forehead lines.
Who the hell invited you to the party?
It's not the actual number that bothers me so much; it's the stark reality staring me back in the mirror:
  • I need to lose at least 20 pounds (but really probably 40).
  • I have never really learned much about skincare and makeup therefore I'm still struggling with acne.
  • I have a patch of hair that is turning more gray by the day.
  • I have deep forehead lines that are aging me significantly and my fine lines and wrinkles are definitely more pronounced.
I feel 25 but when I look in the mirror, the fact that I'm old enough to have four kids is inherently obvious. (How is it that I have a 12-year-old again?)

Here are the positives:
  • I've been on a weight loss journey for about 18 months and I'm down 20 lbs. (Let's ignore the fact that a year ago at this time I was down 35, shall we?)
  • I'm learning about skincare and makeup and I'm now officially taking really good care of my skin.
  • I know how to color my hair at home so see ya gray!
  • I got Botox yesterday so see ya wrinkles! (Still can't believe I did it; I never thought I was that vain.)
So since I've been taking better care of my skin, I'm also keeping a binder filled pages of a table I made in Word to track the products I'm using and the effect on my skin. As I was looking at it this morning, I realized I should track pictures, which led to this blog (which will undoubtedly lead to me opening up Photoshop to design a cool template, but I'm seriously trying to resist the urge to waste time - we've got soccer and we don't have any food in the house and I really need to clean out my bathroom to make room for my fancy new products).
