Daily Routine, Sunday 4/13

Cycle Day #2
4/13 Getting better at taking selfies; this
one only took 15 takes!
Skin Condition in AM: Normal
Skin Condition in PM: Normal
Washed Hair: No

Observations and Additional Information:
Blemishes: Forehead pimple seems a bit smaller; couldn't resist popping the old chinny, chin, chin.

It's hard to see it in this picture, but my chin is a bit angrier today than it was yesterday. I skipped the Differin last night because I was concerned about drying out, but I think I may try it tonight. Dr. Duncan had said to put it on every night and power through the 'it gets worse before it gets better' stage but everything I'm reading says to slowly acclimate my skin to the product, so I'm going to do that. (In Dr. Duncan's defense, it was a last minute issuing of samples and she knows nothing about my skin outside of the Botox appointment.)

My pores are still pretty visible and the sebaceous filaments on my nose are as well. But I've only been using the new BHA for less than a week so I definitely need some time. As an aside, I'm going to be pretty annoyed with myself for starting so many new products at once (check out Wednesday, the 9th) because I'm never going to know which one is my Holy Grail. Ah well, it's not like I'm ever going to stop tinkering with my routine anyway.

I definitely feel like my skin is improving regardless of which product deserves the credit. And I totally cannot believe I'm putting naked photos of my face out there for the whole world to see. Except no one but me (and the husband) knows this place exists anyway.

4/13 enlarged pores and an angry chin.
Will definitely regret the popping in the morning, especially because all I did was annoy it - didn't even get anything out other than blood. I'm a smart woman and yet, I will seemingly never learn.

  1. Megan, Holy cow I am not the only one that turned 40 and now have skin issues. I felt so alone and began hiding like a hermit 3 years ago after my 40th birthday. Literally days after my bday my skin turned on me. I went from ha j g perfect skin my entire life never needing makeup in my skin to wanting to slice the top layer of skin off. I have been doing all natural products because I'm so scared to put chemicals in my face out of fear of what I'll look like in 10 years. I've always maintained at least 10yrs less of the age I really am on my face .This entire horrible episode for 3 years has aged me so fast I have been in a deep depression and my boyfriend of 24 yrs won't even go out with me in public because he said I look like a meth user. I even got pulled over for my registration and the cop asked me if I do meth. Are you fricken kidding me??? Has your skin gotten better? Is there any of the products that you ha e used or still use that you recommend? I have been keeping a photo diary of the last 3 years and would like to show you my skin .please reply to me here or my email is shellietheleo@gmail.com.
